HOUSE PORN in Scotland: The Cart House. If you take the video tour you will hear my thoughts on this but overall I have to say the photos do this no justice. The feeling and energy of the place is scrumptious. It’s a combo — old barn refurb. The garden, since it was raining, didn’t get near the attention it deserves. Feels like a little paradise. Could definitely see welcoming artists here.

My paperwork is officially submitted to the settlement offices here in the UK. Yesterday we drove into Edinburgh so my fingerprints could be taken and my face snapshotted. Since I am not an EU citizen like Silas, I had to be physically seen and documented before my paperwork could be submitted to the government agency. If you’ve ever wanted to live in a graveyard, here’s your chance! We saw this house today. It’s wonderfully within our budget but so incredibly small we could not host artists, musicians or a single guest. We could barely host ourselves and our dogs and would have to leave all of the wonderland accoutrement in the states until we find our museum space. But it was marvelous fun to consider it, and it is not ruled out completely as we may have to buckle down and take a too-small place as a first step to securing a foothold for Wonder […]

Saw another house today. I know. I know. I’m so in love with the first house I have eyes for none other – unless it’s a cathedral, or a castle. But we must invest due diligence. Why? Cuz getting the fairy tale (first house we viewed) is a l-o-n-g shot. The process of getting a house here is quite complicated and involved for us Americans, and yet the demand is so high for homes since Covid struck, houses don’t stay on the market more than 60 days at best. This thing right here!? It’s called a sunset! And it’s happening in Scotland. We bought a pizza and went down to the waterfront to socially distance ourselves. We took our masks off to smile for you. And to shove pizza in our mouths. And beer. I’ll never take the sun for granted again.
