Who’s Your Muse?
So I’ve been holding onto this post for a while, but thanks to Jeannie Lindsay‘s prompting, it’s going up today.
Jeannie and I wanna know who’s your muse? More specifically, while there are those who wonder WWJD (what would Jesus do) we wanna know who fits in your anachronism?
This past year i authored and curated a calendar project that I titled What Would Frida Do? The publisher later changed the title,but the idea stuck: Frida is one of my guides, as I follow her path through trauma, despair, hope and, ultimately, creative expression and “self as canvas.”
I have many others, souls I would consider my muses: Kahlil Gibran, Rumi, Rilke, Auntie Mame, Tori Amos, Esther Hicks, Amma.
Feel free to differentiate between your muses (inspiring) and your mentors/role models.
I never had a mentor/role model. I admire people who do. Maybe that’s partly why I do what I do: I want to serve my tribe inspiration, but also the empowerment of their own true story. Nothing is more exciting than watching your face light up with “I can do this! I got this.” Sets me on fire to watch you go!
So now I have to add you to my list of muses. Tribe, you are truly inspiring to me.
